Zoe Lyons - Bald Ambition
Date: Sunday 16th April, 2023
Venue: Komedia
Doors: 7.00pm for 7.30pm show
Price: £16
Zoe Lyons has kept herself busy in the last couple of years by having what can best be described as a monumental midlife crisis. It involved buying a sports car, having a brief marital separation and running a 100k ultra marathon which really didn’t end well.
Along the way her hair decided the best thing to do was abandon ship. It ain’t easy being a middle aged woman: try doing it with a combover. Thankfully Zoe has been able to explore the funny side of all these twists and turns. It’s time to sell the silly car and try and put the wheels back on her life.
Zoe is the host of BBC2’s Lightning. She’s known as a star of Live at the Apollo and a regular on Have I Got News for You (BBC1), QI (BBC2), and Mock the Week (BBC2). Other credits include Celebrity Antiques Road Trip (BBC2), Stand Up and Deliver (C4), House of Games (BBC2). Zoe is an immediately recognisable voice on Radio 4 as a regular on The News Quiz, Just a Minute, The Unbelievable Truth and The Now Show, and also co-hosts Frank Skinner’s show on Absolute Radio.

Eva Bindeman - The Semi Killer
Date: Friday 28th July, 2023
Venue: The Hop Pole
Doors: 8.15pm for 8.30pm show
Duration: ~1hr
Price: £6 adv or pay what you feel*
Eva Bindeman has made it to every comedy semi final there is and absolutely no further. Failing at being middle class, middle child and mid life, this semi professional comedian has one last attempt to become a winner - putting on her own show with only one contestant. Herself. Can she at least make it to the final?
A show, averagely written and performed with the air of someone who has nothing to lose (...or win), 'The Semi Killer' celebrates the frustrating joy of taking part.
Expect 3 stars, ample seating and a feeling of this show being just fine.

After her sell-out Edinburgh show last year, Rosie returns to tightrope the thin line between politics and entertainment.

Aunty Donna - The Magical Dead Cat Tour
Date: Tuesday 19th September, 2023
Venue: Bath Forum
Doors: 7.30pm for 8.00pm show
Price: from £25
SOLD OUT
Dear Human Beings,
Hello, I am a Magical Dead Cat, the titular Magical Dead Cat from the very title of this very show. After a hugely successful tour of the antipodes, I the Magical Dead Cat have once again put the Aunty Donna boys to the test and have asked them to travel to the faraway lands of USA, Canada, UK & Ireland to perform their wonderfully riotous sketch comedy to the citizens of these countries for the first time in over 5 years.
Their new challenge? Entertain me with a 75ish minute live show, one that features all new sketches, but also a few fan favourites. It MUST include funny voices, incredible costumes and silly songs. If Aunty Donna succeeds in pleasing me with a rip-roarin’ show, I have promised to surprise them with a special, web slinging, mystery guest!
Come, sweet humans, and see if Broden, Zach and Mark are up for the task!
With loving grace,
The Magical Dead Cat.

The band's live performances offer a highwire act between breezy modern Americana and dark melodic alternative rock.

Jon Amor Trio - Live at The Ram
Date: Friday 8th December, 2023
Venue: The Ram
Doors: for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval
Price: Free
Having made his name as a guitar player with the legendary UK blues band The Hoax, Jon Amor pushed the blues boundaries with Amor, a band he formed with Wayne Proctor and Matt Beable. That band made two incredibly good, ahead of time, ground-breaking albums before Jon went on to establish himself as a fine singer/songwriter in his own right, releasing a string of highly acclaimed solo albums.
Along the way Jon also spearheaded the widely acclaimed Jon Amor Blues Group and played a key role in the Blues "supergroups" DVL, Birdmens and the all-star UK line-up of the The Boom Band with Marcus Bonfanti, Paddy Milner, Matt Taylor and Mark Butcher.
The latest project, having moved on from King Street Turnaround, a short-lived band which evolved from a regular jam session in Bristol, is the JON AMOR TRIO with Gerry Soffe (bass – Larry Garner, Malone/Sibun Band, John Etheridge) and Tom Gilkes (drums – Eddie Martin, Elles Bailey, Willie & The Bandits). So it’s back to the three piece format, possibly the platform best suited to Jon’s superb songwriting and creativity.

Bath Comedy launches a brand new professional comedy club at Nowhere, with a top class line-up.
Starring
Carey Marx
A circuit favourite for years, with his own blend of dark humour and a mischievous and gleeful delivery. His wilful disregard for the controversial and delicate is tempered beautifully by his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places.
"This is great comedy from a comedy master" ???? The Scotsman
Adam Flood
High-energy observational comedy with a twist of the surreal, using enthusiastic act-outs, vocal effects, samples, short songs and crowd work to keep the audience on their toes.

Bob Bowles Trio - Live at The Ram
Date: Friday 12th January, 2024
Venue: The Ram
Doors: for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval
Price: Free
Stonkingly fine blues singing and guitar work from a true master. Bob Bowles has been performing at Blues clubs and conventions to critical acclaim for over 30 years and that sense of assertiveness and confidence really shows!
Jamie Cullum says "Bob must be the best blues guitarist in the country".
With a voice that blends elements of Rory Gallagher and Eric Clapton and a superbly edgy guitar style that is drenched with bluesy inflections, he'll have you gripped from the very first bar.
With Bob tonight are Mike Hoddinott on drums and John Paul Gard on Hammond organ.
Known for his work behind the kit in more bands than you can shake a stick at, Mike is a name that needs no introduction in the Blues world.
JP started playing organ at a young age, and is one of the few exponents to have mastered the foot pedals rather than just playing bass lines with the left hand - his amazing coordination is quite something to see and hear.

Venue: The Ram
Doors: for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval

Influences from the worlds of alt country, folk rock, and a little alternative rock, Young Martyrs are guitars, drums, and lots of harmonies.
This gig is the official release party for their next single!
Young Martyrs are Tom Corneill, Rich Beeby, and Lee Cole, with additional guitars from Simon Whitehead. The band was formed between Bath and Bristol in the lockdown period of 2020. What was intended as a product to provide a bit of distraction for four people locked down ended up as a debut album released in December 2020, one that gained the band a small but very loyal following in a world without live music at that time. The boys spent the next couple of years touring festivals and eventually writing and recording album two.
Young Martyrs’ second album, Time Is Not On Our Side, was recorded live at Real World Studios in Bath, with additional recording completed at Indefra Studio in Frome. It was produced by Seb Brice from the band Sinnober.

He was also selected for Just The Tonic’s Big Value showcase at Edinburgh Festival in 2019 and finished runner up in Leicester Mercury's Comedian of The Year 2020.
"Jack Dee's world view, with Frank Skinner's voice, all wrapped up in a Mod's fashion sense" - Chortle
"Classic observational comedy, delivered with effortless sttyle" - Ricky Gervais
Ted Hill
Comedian, and also sometimes a presenter and science communicator, Ted's stand-up is high concept multimedia powerpoint silliness.
"Few comedians harness the frenetic activity of their minds quite as comprehensively as Ted Hill" - Chortle
Mark Flynn
Mark ventured into the world of comedy during his 50s, and his unique journey quickly made waves. Securing the coveted Bath New Act title in 2023 marked just one of his numerous accomplishments.
He emerged as a finalist in both the prestigious Old Act of the Year and NATYS 2022 competitions, solidifying his comedic prowess. Dominating London's Gong shows was routine for Mark, showcasing his deadpan style that perfectly complements his “divorced” personality.
Notably he warmed up for audiences for Mo Gilligan's Lateish Show. Mark's story proves that it's never too late to find your comedic voice, even if it takes a little longer.

Debut national tour from that guy (@mattgreencomedy) you've seen on Twitter being funny about politics. A stand up show featuring jokes about politics and jokes not about politics. That probably covers it.
Matt has achieved millions of views for his online satirical comedy videos since he started making them during lockdown. He's also been performing stand up comedy for nearly 20 years, and this is his first show since the madness of Covid/Johnson/Truss/Lord-knows-what-else began.
Watch him try to make sense of the world as we head into another year of elections, culture wars and who knows what else. Plus discover: exactly who is that guy behind the videos?
May also feature an appearance from a Tory Minister - if Matt can afford his daily rate...

The journey of parenthood is a magical and maddening one so what better way to cope with it than through stand up comedy!
This comedy club welcomes babies up to a year old (any older and they tend to heckle) but beware, this is an adult comedy club, it will have mature content, sweary words and the odd birth story flash back.
This special morning gig has reduced amplification and a dimmed room so no one will notice those red eyes from sleepless nights. You're encouraged to bottle, breast or Haribo feed while watching the show as its a relaxed performance.
You can walk about, or shake Mittens the Special Rabbit in order to soothe your offspring and no one will moan or mutter if your little one cries or screams.
There'll be a full bar too, so go on, treat yerself to a Prosecco, you deserve it!
The gig is open to parents, Aunts, Uncles, Grans, carers, in fact anyone who needs some daytime comedy and doesn't mind some cute babies in attendance.
Please note!
This event is not suitable for babies or children over 1 year old.

"Something for myself that's still baby friendly, I'll defo be going again!" - Ellie, Easton

Mitch Benn - The Point
Date: Thursday 11th April, 2024
Venue: Upstairs @ Bath Pizza Co
Doors: 7.30pm for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval
Price: £15.50
What it might be, how we can miss it and how we can find it again...like all those who spread mirth for a living, Mitch Benn ("the country's leading musical satirist" - The Times) has been wondering if he's really making a difference, and if there is - yes - a POINT to what he - or anybody - is doing.
Well the good news is he's had a long hard think about it and he's figured it out, and he's coming back to tell us all what the POINT of comedy - and much else besides - might be...
"Song after song of exquisitely crafted satire" - The Scotsman
"Well crafted, well sung, his songs are just plain funny" - The Guardian
About Mitch Benn:
Comedian, author, satirical songwriter, musician and actor, Mitch is widely acknowledged as one of the best writers/performers of comedy songs in the UK. He is perhaps best known as the resident comic songwriter on BBC Radio 4's The Now Show from 1999 to 2016, and has become one of the most in-demand comedians on the UK comedy circuit. He has released many albums of comedy songs and has performed all over the world.
Edinburgh Reviews:
"As always there is what is for me a highlight, his 'live looping' where with the aid of his phone and a few pedals, he builds from scratch a fully orchestrated number in front of ones very eyes" ???? One4Review
"Mitch Benn may be wondering what The Point is, but to the audience, it's very clear, making us all laugh until we're red in the face. And he does this very well. Bloody funny, go see" ???? Starburst

Jon Amor Trio - Live at The Ram
Date: Friday 12th April, 2024

Helen Lederer - Not That I'm Bitter
Date: Saturday 13th April, 2024
Venue: Upstairs @ Bath Pizza Co
Doors: 3.30pm for 4.00pm show
Duration: 1hr20 incl signing
Price: £15 / £12 concs (see below *)
Join Helen in a beautiful new venue for an afternoon of stand-up, chat and book signings! Her new book 'Not That I'm Bitter' launches on 11th April, and she's bringing it to Bath Comedy Festival first!
Talking to Helen will be acclaimed actor Pavel Douglas.
About the book:
"I invite you to imagine a time when women didn't do comedy unless they were fat, or an impressionist, or enabled by a man. Be happy you weren't around in the '80s. But I was. I needed to write this"
A hilarious and alarmingly honest memoir by one of Britain's first female stand-up comedians of the 80s, when Alternative Comedy created a new generation of TV heroes, and when women were seen as 'high maintenance'.
A regular on the stand-up circuit and new-wave sketch shows that launched the careers of today's comedy national treasures, Helen performed on stage and TV with other household names from that time.
The child of a Czech wartime refugee, she was never part of the mainstream. Her powerful, frank, moving and characteristically funny memoir, reveals exactly how tough it was for a woman to break through. Even in the ground-breaking 1980s, it was as much a struggle for women to be seen and heard in comedy as in any boardroom or workplace, and just as hard to avoid predators.
Here in her first full account of her life, Helen Lederer is in joyous flow, mixing startling self-revelation with nail-sharp observation. How does humour help to cope with a lifelong battle with weight and low-self-esteem, diet-pill addiction, or dependence on steroid injections? How can laughter defeat the darker moments, despite enormous success, the constant self-sabotage of always feeling a failure?
Occasionally painful, yet unashamedly revealing, this laugh-out- loud account offers a front row seat to Helen's life as a pioneering female stand-up comedian, who out of anger, is now creating opportunities for other witty women.
"This wildly entertaining ride through Helen's fabulous life is funny, adorable, and thought-provoking in equal measure, rather like the dazzling author herself" - Joanna Lumley
"Dizzy dippy and divinely funny Helen Lederer takes you on an insanely readable tour through her chaotically wonderful life. Under her costume of the madcap and the daft, there ticks a very, very smart brain and there beats a most warm and kindly heart. It's a wonderful read" - Stephen Fry

Chaos ensues when the cast and set are waylaid by highwaymen outside Covent Garden, leaving Grimaldi and a panic-stricken Stage Manager to take on every role themselves. With only two musicians, still recovering from a wild night at the theatre, they embark on a riotous production. Believe it or not, every astonishing moment in the story they tell is based on true events!
This laugh-out-loud show is brought to life by a team of Bath's wittiest theatrical talent, featuring Jon Monie, Nik Howden, Jools Scott and Harry Miller, in the stunning Old Theatre Royal. It's an unforgettable experience that captures the essence of Regency Theatre and the birth of the modern Clown.
BOOK EARLY! Join us for an evening of laughter, tears, and unexpected twists.
NOTE: This is a play, not a pantomime for small children. Not recommended for those with a fear of clowns!

Andrew White - Young, Gay and a Third Thing (WIP)
Date: Sunday 14th April, 2024
Venue: Ring O Bells
Doors: 8.00pm for 8.30pm show
Duration: 55mins
Price: £8 adv or pay what you feel*
Andrew White has been described by Joe Lycett as "very exciting and very funny" and by teachers as "a pleasure to teach" (gay).
Join the fast-rising stand-up for a hilarious hour of new material tackling identity, authenticity, and Musical Theatre themed weddings.
When Andrew went full-time with comedy, his new agent advised him to set out his stall and clearly show the world (UK comedy industry) who he was: "Young, Gay and a Third Thing". Now, four years on from those words of wisdom, he is still desperately searching for his Third Thing, before the claim of "Young" expires...
In a world of short form content and quick fix culture, how much space is there to be truly authentic? Can our identities and lives ever be accurately conveyed via a character limited bio? Why are gay weddings either the best weddings or the worst weddings and there’s no in-between? Andrew White has the answers*
*answers = jokes around the topics and a broad throughline that likely ends with a forced callback to give the illusion of structure.
As heard on 'Trusty Hogs', 'What's Upset You Now' & BBC Radio 4.
Writer for Mock the Week.
Tour support for Catherine Bohart, Troy Hawke, Helen Bauer & Chloe Petts.

Nerine Skinner - In Two Minds
Date: Tuesday 16th April, 2024
Venue: Ring O Bells
Doors: 6.30pm for 7.00pm show
Duration: 55min
Price: £6 adv or pay what you feel*
Welcome to the world of BGT semi-finalist Nerine Skinner. One night in 2022 Nerine gained thousands of subscribers when she created a viral parody campaign video for the former Prime Minister Liz Truss that gained more views than Liz's own. Nerine enjoyed 49 days of success and then her career was also over, thus creating a strange codependency with the woman! Almost like Liz is somehow inside her mind.
Join Nerine for a jam-packed work-in-progress show of stand up, non-political character comedy and (loose) political impressions, from Liz Truss to Boris Johnson. Hear her journey of becoming a political impressionist and satirist overnight, neither of which she had ever done before. Then add the pressure of 15 thousand subscribers and trying to keep her fans interested with new ideas, even though all they want is Liz! Mix that with crippling indecision and an inability to work out what to do next, creating a recipe for disaster as she sets out on a quest to make a choice that she hopes won't result in a horrendous u-turn like Liz.
Will Nerine find a new niche? And most importantly, is it okay to keep googling, "What's Liz up to now?" Or does that make her a stalker?
"This comedian's parody of Liz Truss is hilariously accurate" - Sophie Thompson, Indy100
"...Liv Struss sketches have been taking the internet by storm" - Oonagh Keating - The Poke
"Brilliantly talented comic performance" - David Walliams, BGT, The Dots 2022

This play takes you on an insane, hilarious, and moving adventure, telling the extraordinary life story of Joseph Grimaldi, using his unique blend of melodrama, mime, song, and clowning.
Picture this: Grimaldi is ready to unveil his final show, aiming to share his life with the audience. Chaos ensues when the cast and set are waylaid by highwaymen outside Covent Garden, leaving Grimaldi and a panic-stricken Stage Manager to take on every role themselves. Believe it or not, every astonishing moment in the story they tell is based on true events!

The Barton Street Regulators - Live at The Ram
Date: Friday 19th April, 2024
Venue: The Ram
Doors: for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval
Price: Free
The Barton Street Regulators pulled their first heist at Shindig valley back just before the plague hit and have been at large ever since masquerading as a band.
It has been said that this group of vagabonds have been cashing in on their notoriety as outlaws. Some have even been hailing them as folk heroes as they play Irish music in saloon bars and dens of inequity around the state boasting of their exploits while on the run from the authorities. It has been reported that they have been sighted riding towards your town. Law abiding citizens and god fearing folk will be pleased that bounty hunters are on their trail. They are advised not to frequent said places of ill repute or to give them any encouragement and to report their activities to the relevant enforcement agencies.
They say they're available for all kind of concerts, festivities, parties, hoe downs, ceilidhs and barn dances. Heck they've never played a rodeo yet but they're for their first one if you name the time and the place and you've got the bounty to hire them.

Duration: 55min

What started out as a living room lockdown bit of fun has quite frankly gotten out of hand.

What got them through was turning their (sexual) frustration into song. Still in the comfort of their living room and mismatched PJ's, Ki & Dee are airing their dirty laundry out on the road!
Part stand-up comedy, part mental breakdown, Ki & Dee: Live is anything but boring! A mix of Singing and audience participation.

Mik Artistik's EgoTrip
Date: Thursday 30th May, 2024
Venue: Nowhere
Doors: 7.30pm for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval
Price: £15 / £12 concs (see below *)
Mik Artistik's Ego Trip are genuinely delightful, funny, frightening, and indefinable. Northern rock and roll stand-up comes close.
Mik fixes the audience with his compelling stare, hypnotising and charming them with stories, songs, and poems. Every show is unique as Mik finds a new train of thought to ride. He connects, chats, breaks the wall between audience and band, creates chaos, plays air-crook lock (!?), and is complimented by exquisite layers of rock, soul, funk, and punk created by Jonny Flockton on electric guitar.
The band are regular Glastonbury favourites since their first appearance in 2007.
Many fans don't consider Glastonbury has started until they've attended either Mik's gig on the Wednesday afternoon at the Croissant Neuf Bandstand, or the chaos that reigns at Thursday evening's Rocket Lounge gig. Both are now Glastonbury traditions for many fans.
They have achieved an enviable reputation at many of the major UK festivals, including Latitude, Bearded Theory, Beat Herder, Wilderness, and Beautiful Days.
BBC Radio 6Music have long been playing Mik's music with Gideon Coe, Chris Hawkins, Shaun Keaveny and Tom Robinson all big fans of the band.
In early 2020 no-less than rock icon and 6Music presenter Iggy Pop endorsed Mik's anthem of hope 'Sweet Leaf of the North' as his favourite song of the last DECADE! ... In his words "… because it's human, it's real and it has soul"
"Best live band I have seen all summer" - Gideon Coe
"My favourite band on the planet" - Martin Parr

Bob Bowles Trio - Live at The Ram
Date: Friday 31st May, 2024
Venue: The Ram
Doors: for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval
Price: Free
Stonkingly fine blues singing and guitar work from a true master. Bob Bowles has been performing at Blues clubs and conventions to critical acclaim for over 30 years and that sense of assertiveness and confidence really shows!
Jamie Cullum says "Bob must be the best blues guitarist in the country".
With a voice that blends elements of Rory Galagher and Eric Clapton and a superbly edgy guitar style that is drenched with bluesy inflections, he'll have you gripped from the very first bar.

Starring:
LAURA DAVIS
Since making her name in 2008 as a national finalist in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival RAW competition, Laura has returned to MICF eleven times with nine different solo shows, garnering a reputation as one of the most talented and distinctive acts performing at the festival.
Laura's new show, 'If This Is It', received a nomination for the Most Outstanding Show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Awards in 2022, and will be going on to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
Laura has also been a guest on several of the UK's leading podcasts, including The Adam Buxton Podcast, The Comedian's Comedian Podcast and The Guilty Feminist.
FIONA ALLEN
Twice Emmy winning actor and comedian Fiona Allen has been a mainstay of our TV screens over the past two decades. She has starred in various sketch shows, most famously the iconic 'Smack the Pony'.
Fiona won a whole new generation of fans in the second series of the hit E4 teenage drama 'Skins', in 'Happiness' alongside Paul Whitehouse and often appearing as herself on comedy shows like 'Mock the Week' and '8 Out Of 10 Cats'.
"Warm, engaging and very very funny"
IAN MURPHY
Despite being a relative newcomer to the circuit at the ripe age of 52, he is already making waves and providing tour support for top circuit comedians and appearing on pro bills at some of the country's top comedy clubs. His humour is a combination of his Liverpudlian roots, a failed football career and his confusion of finding himself in polite society without the need for being frisked. Expect sharp cutting wit with all the charm of a disillusioned Geography teacher.

"Comedic revelation" - Torquay Comedy Club
"An exceptionally confident entertainer, delivering humour that resonates brilliantly" - Ben Milden, Torquay Comedy

Dr Phil Hammond - Double Bill
Date: Wednesday 17th July, 2024
Venue: Upstairs @ Bath Pizza Co
Doors: 7.30pm for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval
Price: £15
First Half:
FIFTY MINUTES TO SAVE THE NHS
Doctors Phil Hammond (silly) and Dame Clare Gerada (serious) devise, with your help, a revolutionary health manifesto.
Does the NHS need saving, funding or fixing? Will a change of government make much difference? Why can't we be like Sweden or Singapore? Is 'Health For All' an aspiration or a joke? Why are NHS staff so angry and knackered? Do we live too long or not long enough? Where can I buy some end-of-life drugs?
Laugh, shout, argue, vote, save the NHS. Seriously subversive. The perfect election warm up. Or post election wind down.
Second Half:
THE INS AND OUTS OF PLEASURE
Dr Phil Hammond (Private Eye, Doctor Doctor, Sex, Sleep or Scrabble?) dissects the ins and outs of pleasure using science, stories and stuff he's made up.
Is your pleasure thermostat set at a level that won't destroy you? Are the ingredients of your pleasure soup correct or are you drowning in pleasure? Do you pleasure yourself and others in a safe and sustainable way? Where does pain fit in? Why do some people pleasure themselves so unusually? From philately to consensual cannibalism.

Venue: Upstairs @ Bath Pizza Co
Doors: 7.30pm for 8.00pm show
Duration: 2hrs incl interval
Price: £15
The legendary double act Fiasco Job Job, Arthur Smith and Phil Nice, having surprisingly beaten the visitation of the grim reaper, reunite for one final time to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
But what has changed in that time? Instagram is now no longer just a super efficient drug supply network. Tik Tok is more than the annoying sound of a clock. But apart from that, everything else is about as rubbish as before.
