For one night only, Bill Smarme's legendary Twerton boozer 'The Smarme's Arms' relocates to the upstairs room at Club XL on Walcot Street. (Use entrance on side street Old Orchard.)

Bill Smarme - international nightclub entertainer, bon viveur, building contractor - and his band The Bizness are top of the bill, preceded by a farrago of music and comedy entertainment, including ukelele and racy songs from Jem Roberts, and charming & disarming stand-up from Dave Williams, probably interspersed with bingo, karaoke, a quiz, some vicious blinds, and a meat draw.

Get yer drinking boots on and get ready for an unforgetable night down Bill's local. Best leave the kids at home.

What do you really know about someone that you see on stage?

Dave has been a professional stand-up comedian for 15 years and still doesn't know how that happened. Growing up he was painfully shy, solitary, and under the surface probably still is.

In his twenties T S Eliot wrote The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock about just such a man. Ever since studying it at school it's been a kind of soundtrack to Dave’s life.

In this spoken word show he puts joking aside and talks about shyness, loneliness, performing, and this beautiful poem.

"An engaging performer." - The Stage
"Charming storyteller." - Manchester Evening News

An evening of top notch stand-up in Bath Comedy's favourite intimate air conditioned venue, starring:

Nick Page
Nick headlines comedy clubs across the country and has worked extensively abroad. He has a great story-telling style, always at one with his audience and highly engaging, without resorting to hackery and old jokes or being pointlessly sweary.
"Rogueish...Bearlike and with a host of barely believable stories about life, love and brushes with the law" - Guardian
"The very best story teller on the comedy circuit" - Rhod Gilbert

Harriet Kemsley
Award winning idiot & quirky rising star Harriet Kemsley has appeared on the BBC3 Comedy Marathon, London Lives Funny Rotten Scoundrels, the Radio 1 Comedy Lounge and as Tour Support for Katherine Ryan and Stephen Merchant.
"A very funny new stand up" - Time Out

Dave Williams (MC)
Dave is a top quality, experienced circuit comedian, whose crisp one-liners and surreal nonsense have earned him headline slots at some of the most prestigious comedy clubs both here and abroad.
