This year's line-up is bigger and better than ever with well over 100 performers and 100 shows, in venues across the city.

From avant garde stand-up to family friendly comedy, sketches, magic, music and visiting international comedians, there is a diverse line-up in new and unusual venues, pubs, theatres and the streets.

Average ticket prices are down again making this the most affordable festival yet, and indeed a full programme of shows at Bath Brew House are using a "pay-what-you-feel" ticket system where you can secure a seat in advance for £5 or gain free entry on the day if there's room, and put what you can afford in the collection bucket a the end of the show.

Widcombe Social Club is back on the map as our flagship venue, having been rebuilt as a fantastic new resource for the city (see below), the Ring O Bells is host to a dozen Edinburgh-style tour or preview shows, and there are a number of events unique to the festival. With a plethora of other comedy shows at such places as St James Wine Vaults, The Bell, Assembly Inn, Komedia, the YMCA and even in someone's front room, there really is something for everyone!

Widcombe Social ClubWe're delighted that we'll be using the newly rebuilt Widcombe Social Club during the Festival.

Bath Comedy Festival will be the first use of the new building, and we've got events on every day - starting on April 1st with the Opening Night April Fools Stand-up Showcase, which features some of the best recent stand-up competition winners alongside some circuit favourites.

Highlights at the venue over the first weekend include Viv Groskop, a Character & Sketch Comedy Showcase featuring double act Lazy Susan, Stephen Frost's Improv Allstars, a special panel show In Conversation with Standard Issue Magazine (Sarah Millican's new sharp and witty online publication) with Lucy Porter, Kirsten O'Brien and Sally Anne Hayward, and the incredible Mighty Voice of Jess Robinson.

Midweek, the Kids' Comedy Festival takes over during the day times with two events per day including three performances of a show specially written for the Festival, King Pumpypants & the 3 Princesses, in which the children get to meet Cinderella, Snow White and Rapunzel!

Arthur Smith's Arturart Museum of Socks will be available to view all day throughout the Festival staring on Sunday 3rd April...and if you time your visit right, you might find the curator in attendance...

The second weekend features Anna Morris as Georgina the Bride, Hardeep Singh Kohli, Patrick Monahan, Pete Searles, German comedian Paco Erhard and a new immersive theatre show The Wedding Reception, from the creators of The Faulty Towers Dining Experience, which includes a two course meal and wedding cake!
