This workshop is a taster session of what is usually a whole 1 or 2 day course.
Silky uses elements drawn from stand-up comedy to develop your confidence to create and communicate messages more memorably.

Limited places - advance booking essential.
Includes free ticket to the show afterwards (details here).

Learn how to improve engagement, be more fluent in front of any audience, and increase your presence, clarity and impact as a public speaker.

It's also a tremendous amount of fun.

The Workshop will help you to:

- Feel happy and curious to be outside your comfort zone
- Think on your feet so you'll not get stuck for words
- Find your own voice, and understand how to use it best: look and feel natural
- Deal with nerves and have greater presence
- Practice techniques to engage an audience

"Not just a very funny and engaging comedian but someone who understands comedy and encourages other performers too. Lovely man!" - Rory Bremner

About the teacher: A comedian since 1994, Silky has been running the Laugh At Leeds Comedy and Improv courses since 1994, and has worked with corporate clients from Hult Ashridge Business School and Aspire Igen to Kirklees & Calderdale Council.

Our graduates have performed worldwide and at comedy festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe and Leicester Comedy Festivals, on Britain's Got Talent and Big Brother.

Our graduates have won the Leicester Square Theatre, Harrogate, Bath & Nottingham Comedy Festival New Acts Of The Year, include winners of Circuit Breakers and Slaminutes, been finalists and semi-finalists in many major competitions including Funny Women, BBC R4, So You Think You're Funny. We also taught a President of the Professional Speakers Association.

Some of them haven't done anything onstage since, but have a crack team of new friends, many happy memories, and a completely new string to their bow.

"A couple of years ago I struggled to even leave the house. Last night I performed in one of the heats for the So You Think You're Funny competition" - Emma

"Reflecting over the last few years I still think that Silky's courses have been some of the best things I've ever done" - Lee Jackson - FPSA, PSAE, Past President of the Professional Speaking Association in the UK & Ireland.

"Quite honestly, this course is one of the best things I have ever done. Silky is a master of his craft - take the plunge and do it! If you've ever considered trying stand up, this is the place to start!" - Helen

"This course is an absolute top time. Get on it" - Sam

"I was telling a friend about the course last night and how all the little tasks were quite genius. You're like the comedy Mr Miyagi" - Jack
