The Bath Comedy Festival New Act Competition sees over 100 of the best up-and-coming comics in the UK compete for the title.

After twelve heats, the best acts battle it out in tonight's Grand Final at Bath's flagship venue - the fabulous Bath Forum - judged by a panel comprising comedy industry heavyweights including Mark Chapman, Alan Nixon and Bath Comedy Festival Director Nick Steel, plus guest judges Angie Belcher & Trish Caller.

There will also be a performance from last year's winner Adam Flood while the judges deliberate!

The winner will be presented with the coveted Bath Comedy New Act Of The Year Award, receive £250 and guaranteed paid gigs throughout the following year.

Previous finalists include Adam Flood, Bennet Kavanagh, David Eagle, Pete Latham, Sunjai Arif, Pav Rao, Tamar Broadbent, Bethan Roberts, Archie Maddocks, Paul Revill, Larry Dean, Garrett Millerick, Rob Beckett, Joe Lycett, Matt Richardson, Mickey Sharma, Lindsay Sharman, Harriet Kemsley and James Alderson.

Competition co-organiser and tonight's compere is Geoff Whiting - with over 20 years on the stand-up circuit, Geoff is an established comedian and popular compere with a wealth of experience in working at all the notable comedy clubs in Europe. Geoff is also the driving force behind Mirth Control - the largest independent comedy booker in the UK, currently booking comedy shows into more than 80 venues nationwide.
