Take part in a Comedy Writing Masterclass led by Plymouth Laureate of Words, Laura Horton!
Over these two days you will develop your skills in writing for comedy performance, across different contexts and themes.
You’ll look at the basics of playwriting as a craft, with a focus on using comedy to explore difficult themes.
You’ll also have the opportunity to have a go at writing your own tongue-in-cheek, bad erotic fiction!
Laura Horton is a writer and the current Plymouth Laureate of Words, the first playwright Laureate. Her plays include: Labyrinth Diet at The Space (OFFCOMM winner), Breathless (Edinburgh Fringe First winner), Popcorn and BBC Writer’s Room finalist. Breathless was staged at Soho Theatre in 2023, and was in New York as part of Brits Off Broadway in May 2023.
No previous experience necessary. Age 18+
